Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Janeen found her way to San Diego after graduating from Bowling Green State University — and there, something shifted. She fell in love with the organic farm movement: a culture of small growers woven into wellness, food, and environmental stewardship. At one point she had over 100 houseplants, and when 2020 arrived and the world went quiet, her personal garden became a lifeline.

What started as a reason to get outside blossomed into something she couldn't ignore. As her passion deepened, Janeen and Gene made a bold decision: sell everything, buy an RV, and spend two years traveling across 40 states in search of the place they'd put down roots.

They fell in love with the Greenville area, and in 2025 purchased 5 acres in Belton, SC — and immediately started building the farm of their dreams. Fields of Abundance is that dream, rooted in the belief that growing food and flowers is one of the most meaningful things a person can do.

Janeen is also a certified herbalist since 2024, deepening her connection to the land and the healing power of the plants she grows.
